Troy Isley Of Alexandria To Compete In Boxing At Olympics

A boxer from Alexandria is vying for a gold medal at the 2021 Olympics after being chosen to represent Team USA. Troy Isley, 22, is a middleweight boxer from Alexandria, a T.C. Williams High School alumnus and part of the Alexandria Boxing Club. He secured his spot on the Olympic team on June 7, USA Boxing confirmed. According to patch.com, "Isley, lightweight Keyshawn Davis and featherweight Duke Ragan were the most recent to qualify, joining six others: Rashida Ellis, Virginia Fuchs, Naomi Graham, Delante Johnson, Oshae Jones and Richard Torrez Jr. According to a statement from Team USA, Isley won a bronze medal at the 2017 world championships and at the Pan Am Games in 2019. He is 2-0 as a professional, including one knockout, and hopes to become Team USA's first men's 75 kg. Olympic medalist since 2004."
